The wave of racist attacks against our Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities that has swept across many parts of the Bay Area and the nation has brought into focus the anti-Asian hate, racism, and violence faced by many in our community.
ICA stands in solidarity with our AAPI families, friends, neighbors, and community members against these attacks and against racism.
As an organization with a mission to close the racial and gender wealth gaps, and one privileged to work within a diverse community, it is our duty to celebrate our differences and fight back against social and economic injustice. We represent entrepreneurs, advisors, and community members from many cultures and diverse backgrounds, and as a group of individuals, we are a team deeply committed to equity and justice. Today and everyday, we stand together against hate.
To effectively address anti-Asian racism, we must recognize the diversity of identities, traditions, and experiences held by people in the AAPI community. The Bay Area has been singularly shaped by the contributions of AAPI leaders and we celebrate the positive impacts and important role of the many AAPI-led small businesses, organizations, and foundations in our neighborhoods.
In addition to continuing our work towards closing the racial and gender wealth gaps, today ICA is making a direct contribution to Asian Americans Advancing Justice.
