Investing with ICA means seeing returns that are financially and socially impactful:
Equitable Wealth Creation
Advancing Racial and Gender Equity
Competitive Financial Returns
A 2018 McKinsey study showed that gender, racial, cultural, and ethnic diversity play a substantial role in driving profitability and growth for many businesses, both large and small. Companies that are more racially and gender diverse are:
33% more likely to have industry-leading profitability
21% more likely to outperform on profitability
27% more likely to have a superior value creation than their peers

Provide women and entrepreneurs of color with patient capital through the form of equity and/or long-term convertible notes.
Create good jobs that will provide workers with salaries and benefits that allow them to thrive in the Bay Area.
Ensure that the businesses are committed to a rich and diverse workforce at all levels of employment, with fair and equitable compensation for all.
Investment area includes the nine Bay Area counties.
Returns Strategy and Portfolio Construction
Every dollar invested into our Portfolio companies is recycled into future ICA investments; at a 12% annual return, this means $1M turns into $2M in just over 6 years.
As an investor, the impact of the capital you provide is exponential, creating more jobs and wealth in our community.
ICA secures funding from those who share our belief that accelerating great businesses and closing the racial and gender wealth gaps can ultimately transform our economy into one that works for all.
Diversified funding sources are important to manage maturity risks, pay-back, and mission alignment. Therefore, the target funding goal for full grants is 50% of the total capital investment raised, and 50% as PRI debt or recoverable loans.
ICA sources capital from:
Grants
PRI Investments
Family offices
Donor Advised Funds
Corporate investments
CRA Investments
