A few weeks ago we hosted our first-ever contest for tickets to the Natural Products Expo West conference.
Expo West is “the world’s largest natural, organic and healthy products trade show” and it all goes down in Anaheim, March 3rd through 7th. And this year, for the first time ever, we’re sending two entrepreneurs from the ICA network there with free tickets to the whole conference!
Our entrepreneurs will be joined by Director of Acceleration, Dianna Tremblay who is not only helping to judge the Expo’s Pitch Slam event but is also is sitting on a panel, titled “Aligning Values: Raising Money & Building Partnerships.”
And now, without further ado, here is our Expo West ticket winner: Minnie Bell’s Soul Movement!
Minnie Bell’s, led by Fernay McPherson, is an ICA Accelerator alumni company that makes some of the most delicious rosemary-scented fried chicken in the West out of its kitchen and restaurant in Emeryville. First founded by Fernay as a food truck, Minnie Bell’s menu “offers up delicious home-style food, combining soulful flavors and warmth of the south. Fernay learned to cook from her great aunt Minnie and late grandmother Lillie Bell” – hence, Minnie Bell’s name.
Dianna and Fernay will also be joined by Sherry Akioka, Chief People Officer at ICA investment portfolio company, Firebrand Artisan Breads. Firebrand is Oakland’s only wood-fired bakery, selling delicious pastries, and fresh-baked breads out of its bakery and cafe on Broadway in Downtown Oakland.
