Dear friends and supporters,
As we near the end of the year, I’m reflecting on my first six months as CEO of ICA. This time has been one of learning, listening and planning even as our talented team has continued to execute against our organizational goals.
This year:
- we’ve helped nine companies build growth strategies and get investment ready through the ICA Accelerator;
- we’ve hosted two inspiring pitch events bringing together 200+ members of ICA’s community to celebrate our dynamic entrepreneurs;
- shared our insights and expertise with CDFI partners in Washington DC at the national Opportunity Finance Network;
- grown our team;
- and supported dozens of high-potential entrepreneurs who collectively paid more than $20M in wages to our local economy.
Today, as we get ready for 2020, I’m asking for your support. As a member of our vibrant community, you know how important it is for local small businesses to access growth capital and you understand the power a good job has to effect positive change in our communities.
Without financial support from our community, ICA can’t do this work.
“Our mission is bolstered by our strong vision for change in the Bay Area economy. Working with local entrepreneurs for over 23 years, we know that advising, education, and access to fair capital leads to wealth creation for those that have historically been left out of that opportunity.
It isn’t enough for us to just acknowledge the significant roles race and gender play in entrepreneurship, and our economy more broadly. With our dedicated team and our committed pro-bono advisors, we are empowering our entrepreneurs, their employees, and their communities to create new wealth, share ownership and build new pathways to economic mobility.
Will you help us expand our impact? Your gift supports ICA to accelerate great small businesses through mentorship and investments to close the racial and gender wealth gaps.
