Dear ICA community,
We are all reckoning with the effects of the COVID-19 crisis on our small businesses. Across the ICA network, companies like Red Bay Coffee, Reem’s, Bread SRSLY, Minnie Bell’s, Noodle Girl, Cupcakin’ Bake Shop, and Progeny are making the necessary adjustments to do business in our new reality. In fact, all of ICA’s companies are learning new ways to weather this storm.
As the ICA team continues to support our companies, we keep listening too. We’re learning more about our companies’ immediate needs, hearing our entrepreneurs’ concerns about the future, and paying attention to national trends. Our companies are planning for the long-term, and we are here to take the journey with them.
One thing is for sure: there is no one-size-fits-all solution to get small businesses through an extended downturn. Companies run by people of color are among those hardest hit by the crisis. These companies also face greater challenges in accessing the support they need to stay resilient. ICA remains committed to connecting entrepreneurs of color to the coaching and capital they need to support their businesses’ growth. While ICA has had a rapid response, we realize there is no quick fix and that’s why we are here to help – now and in the long term.
The road to a full recovery from the pandemic will be long and bumpy. As we commit to our entrepreneurs, we know that they are resolved to remain in business, take care of their workers, and rebuild sustainable companies that thrive over the long-term.
And with your help, they can.
Sincerely,
Allison Kelly, CEO
